  • More Whining

Once again, more fools whining about radio edits. Because they think it's all about them. Some of us want them. You want album versions, there are plenty of other releases to get them. So, shut up the complaining about radio edits.

This latest Aerosmith Hits compilation is to help support the band's farewell tour. It's a cash and grab as there have already been numerous Aerosmith Greatest Hits collections. The sound quality of this latest is the worst I've heard.

Love all the songs but wish you could get rockin’ the joint in here
  • Almost the only Aero album you’ll ever need

Aside from the obvious notion that this was not the bands first ever greatest hits release, it’s arguably not their best either. We’re missing some songs here, choosing “Get a Grip” over “Fever” for the 1993 era - wasn’t cool. Giving us the live version of “Rag Doll” wasn’t cool - and there is not an Aerosmith fan, hardcore or casual - who agrees the live version of Rag Doll is better. We also got radio edit versions of our favorite songs. Which I don’t think are better either, Joe Perry’s guitar solo on the intro to “Angel” really sets the tone for that love song, and editing it out to pieces really kinda kills the song. For us millennial era Aerosmith fans who grew up with them in the late 90’s - 2000’s, we’re also missing some stuff from Just Push Play, “Sunshine” “Fly away from Here” would have been great picks for the 2001 era. From 2003, we’re also missing “Girls of Summer” - which was a killer single. How did we not get this song? From 2004 we didn’t get a single song from the blues cover album Honkin’ on Bobo. There were some great songs on that album, in fact from 2005-2005 you might remember the commercial of Steven Tyler walking through a restaurant being stared at by girls, with the song “The Grind” in the background - that was a big song. There’s a lot of missed opportunity here. But future generations will be able to discover the meat and potatoes of a band called Aerosmith - with this album. It’s bittersweet. The peace out farewell tour just kicked off, and now it’s time to say goodbye. Or peace out.
