iTunes needs to get the soundtrack for the musical that Dolly wrote -9 to 5 the Musical. I'm sure people would buy it.

Marboro Guy hit it on the head. Not all Parton's albums have cohesive themes, but this one strikes a chord upon the dignity of work and humans' coping mechanisms for apparently hopeless circumstances. The title track tends to attract all the attention and evoke memories, but some unsung highnotes (pardon the puns) include the haunting "Dark as a Dungeon," Parton's innovative, contributory covers of "House of the Rising Sun" and "Detroit City" and, of course, her classic "But You Know I Love You."

This album as well as Dolly's entire catalog of hits is far above most talent on the super charts today. Let's give credit to the real stars who brought country music where it is today. Their voices weren't always smoothed over and enhanced with all our new technology of today and still sounded wonderful. Anyone can listen to a true talent such as Dolly perform live and hear the same wonderful sound you hear on a CD. Listen to some of todays artists and you will be shocked at what you hear in an "unplugged" version. Then let's compare talent and not rate something like this 5 stars.

Ignore the itunes review. This album is one of Dolly's most cohesive and strongest overall efforts. The songs on this album are loosely centered around the concept of work, with the single 9 to 5 leading the way. Another excellent album cover too.

This album was one of Dolly's best albums from the early 1980's. I purchased this album on vinyl when it came out, and think it is great that it has been reissued on CD. Propelled by the popularity of the movie, and Dolly's mega-smash- "9 to 5", this concept album also contains the hit single "But You Know I Love You". Don't miss out on this classic album, which still stands as one of Dolly's best country-pop albums 28 years after its initial release.
