This is an excellent blend of that Gospel/R&B/and Hip-Hop flavor. This will definitely become a big crossover hit. I am really digging this song with the soulful flavor from Ruben Studdard and the melodic gospel feel from Mary Mary and Haddon. Thumbs Up.
  • Sing unto HIM

Why anyone would have a problem with this song is beyond me. But you know, you will never please everyone all the time and guess what??? It is not about pleasing others it's about pleasing God. People do not have a heaven or hell to put you in so please continue to sing praises to the Lord because Psalms 33:3 states, "Sing unto him a NEW song; play skillfully with a loud noise" . Now that is THE WORD. Let GOD deal with the mess. With the Love and Joy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Evangelist Jessica

We all love God in different ways, but we love Him none the less . . . some upbeat, some mellow, some meditative, some slow and others get chrunk, like me. So that's why I love God like I do. . . sanctified and full of the Holy Ghost.

...usually, i'm not this passionate about a song or about reviewing it, but from the first time i heard it, i fell in love with it, and NEVER ONCE thought the song had ANYTHING to do with homosexuality. i mean, COME ON, PEOPLE! REALLY?! WOW! ...can we as Christians PLEASE stop being so CLOSED-MINDED?? ...to even try to imply that this song is about a gay relationship is one of the BIGGEST reaches i've EVER heard! it's so absurd it's HILARIOUS, and i challenge just ONE of the "critics" who think it is to give me a solid, concrete and REALISTIC reason as to why they think it is. SO WHAT if they never directly mention GOD or Jesus in the song? to even the most hardcore atheist, it is ABUNDANTLY clear who the song is about. it's NO diifferent than some of the songs released by Sounds of Blackness, Kirk Franklin, Martha Munizzi or (YES, i'm about to "go there") The Staple SIngers, and i dare say that NO ONE would accuse them of being "too secular". i have played it for friends of mine who would not fall under the category of the traditional "church-goer", some of them not even Christians, and they have enjoyed this song JUST as much as I do... ...and in my book, that equals MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. it does just what we ALL as Christians SHOULD be doing; ministering to the world at large and meeting them WHERE THEY ARE, so that, with GOD'S help, we can get them to where HE wants them to be; a mandate issued in Matthew 28:29 - "go ye therefore into all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." if a solid bassline and an incredible rhythm and melody are what it takes to get the Word into the hearts and minds of a world which DESPERATELY needs to hear it, especially in times like these, then SO BE IT. ...not every Gospel song requires an organ, robes, tambourines and a powerhouse alto named Bertha Jean leading it to be considered meaningful and full of the Gospel of Christ Jesus... ...PLEASE let's not lose sight of that! no, i could NEVER see my 90-year-old grandmother EVER embracing this song, nor my 50-ish mother, but guess what... ...THEY AREN'T THE TARGET AUDIENCE! ...now, having said that, this song is INFECTIOUS. whenever i play it, i find myself putting it on repeat and listening to it a good three or four times BACK TO BACK! i NEVER get tired of this song, or its message, and think it to be well on its way to becoming a new "standard"; one of those songs that two or three years from now, people will STILL be enjoying. the music is just right; not too hard, not too nondescript. it supports the inspirational, beautifully crafted and HIGHLY motivational lyrics just as it should, and really elevates the song to the next level. as an added bonus, having Mary Mary lend their beautiful, anointed voices to an already exceptional track makes it even better. in my opinion, it is a song that has ABSOLUTE relevence to both the world at large, AND its target audience - YOUNGER people and YOUNGER Christians who REALLY don't want to listen to Mahalia Jackson or Shirley Caesar all the time, no disrespect to either artist.. ...it's the perfect blend of modern music with a message that the world needs to hear. ...in summary, it epitomizes contemporary gospel at its FINEST, and, quite frankly, there are ANY NUMBER artists out there who would be well-advised to take notes, both Christian AND secular, on how to create a worthwhile collaborative effort that people will actually enjoy, REMEMBER and WANT to listen to years from now!
  • Ignore the ignorance

Wow...I can't believe that people are this ignorant. Jesus...the SON of God...HE is the son...and I will forever sing his praises. This is a great song...anointed by God. It doesn't have to sound like everything else...it's a blessing to have artists who aren't afraid to be out the box for HIM, Jesus!!! The ignorance of saying or implying that a man is gay for singing about Jesus...is the exact reason that we must continue to spread the gospel. You are perverted...and God is not pleased. TOUCH NOT fool...ROCK ON D. HADDON! PEACE!

I absolutely love this song. And for those of you all saying that it could be confused as a homosexual song, thats silly. As far as the beat, there is no set standard for how gospel music should sound. As long as it is getting the message out and reaching others, then it is fine. We as christians need to try and start reaching out to people outside our "holy circle". Thats what christ wants us to do. I'm NOT saying go out and befriend the devil in any way but figure out a way to reach the lost. Most youth these days relate to beats like this. As long as they are listening to this rather than 50 cent or soulja boy, whats the big deal?

I just want to thank them for making this song.....This song will bring and keep the young people in Christ alert and attentive to the word and that is what we want in such times as these. I was reading reviews were people were juding no no no God tells us in his word to cast the first stone. I love the song please make more I work with the youth and I love it for them. So who ever downing them or talking about them please get over yourself because if God has not shut them down why should you. ~Blessings to the saints of God~

First off I've been a great supporter of Deitrick Haddon and Mary Mary, and many others who profess the Gospel of God through song. Fred Hammond will always be my personal favorite because as a young man, I want to listen to someone who is "ministering to me, and not singing to me." My advice to everyone on this thread, test the lyrics of the song and the lifestyle of the artist and see if it is contrary to God's word...And that same time not be concerned by who's buying who's records...Use 2Tim 3:16-17 Stop all this useless chatter among believers and let's get out there and do what Christ has called us to do, preach the word, heal the sick, go on missions to countries were the word can't be preached. Matthew 28:19 And let's talk like "Christians"...and not be conformed to wordly speech (like Haitin", etc.)

What??? Christians don't want to "expand their tents" in order to reach out to those that NEED true shelter, which can ONLY be found in Jesus. SO WHAT if the name of Christ isn't plastered in every line of the song. I'm telling you....this is a song that was Holy Spirit inspired for all the UTH and those that simply love to get lost in praise unto Him. HE ((GOD)) needs no banner of introduction. God is coming soon and as servants of Chrst.......we MUST do everthing we can to tell the world about his love. Which is exactly what Deitrick, Reuben & Mary Mary do in this track. I work with our UTH and the truth is...no matter how Spirit led, Holy Ghost speakin' or if you Hold a title in church, pray everyday, sing on da worship team, are a living BILLBOARD for the Lord by wearing nothing but Christian T-shirts....your kids are exposed to secular music in school, when they go shopping cuz it's playing on the intercom, and even when they're with their friends or when they watch TV or movies. So....who you gonna blame for turning your baby "worldly"? DUH......we are in this world but we are not OF the world. So.....we must do what we can to GET THE MESSAGE OF JESUS to them. HOW??? By getting them to listen to music that's not secular but sho nuff beats listenin' to stuff they usually do. THIS is how we reach the UTH. THIS is how we get the age group between 20 - 35 (that be missin' church on Sundays cuz they was bumpin' it up in the clubs Fri. & Sat.) back into church. We must reach them in a familiar area.....MUSIC. I only have a beef (problem) with people that don't know what God's heartbeat is.....His children (us). As brothers and sisters in Christ, it is our responsibility to make every effort to help those that have lost sight of the cross to re-focus and get back on the right track. And for those that have never experienced God's love....it's up to us to reach them at all costs.....completely doing everything ALL FOR THE LORD. Meet them on familiar territory.....that's how you get someone to listen to what you gotta say. So......just like the title of the track......I LUV HIM LIKE I DO.....just because. ;D
