This is album is definitely weaker than the two. It does have a fantastic opener with "Mean Woman Blues". The first 7 tracks are the soundtrack of the film "Loving You". The others are new recordings from 1957. The soundtrack portion of this is good, but not an outstanding soundtrack like Jailhouse Rock. I've always though this should've been an EP, while JR should've been an LP with bonus tracks. The studio portion is of this is decent, with the standout being "Don't Leave Me Now". Overall an inconsistent album with good moments and not-so-good moments. (Think Hot Dog!)
It's gotta be great if

.....Robert Plant even knew the song "let's have a party" and covered it on a tribute album
Less consistent, but still worth 50 years

Elvis' first soundtrack album does not transfix the listener to the extent that the first two sets do. There are a half dozen Elvis essentials among the tracks, but then more pap and saccharine, as well. In keeping with the western ranch land locale of the movie, Elvis leans heavily toward western folk and swing. So although a weaker album overall, it does demonstrate greater versatility in Elvis the performer.
