Just when I began to give up hope that our music was lost to canned pop music, Hozier comes along. This is one of the most moving songs/videos I've seen in years. It's haunting, and it sticks with you. It makes you think! Not to disparage other true artists out there performing, but they seem to get drowned out by the antics of the manufactured musicians. I look forward to many years of artistry from Hozier. BTW, if you can't handle the subject matter, that's your problem. You need to grow up and understand that your uninformed personal opinions do equal the voice of the community.

I Really have come to understand that one does not awake to be black and blue,homeless,addicted,diabetic. The things we fear the most are what we can not understand,and worst of all we don't want to have humility or the tools to get knowledge on. Does one choose to be born or find out someday that they have some sort of disorder. Wake up, this is not a dress rehersal for hell anymore than what is already happening. we are human here for a reason,be teachable and carry the message.

What is beautiful about Hozier is his ability to write songs that have lyrics that reach so many people, and relate to so many people, yet at the very same time, so many people….have absolutely NO IDEA what the song is actually about. It is fascinating to see others take this song and completely get the message wrong, on every single level, simply because of one word…..it astounds me every single time. People see what they choose to see, hear what they choose to hear. If you are truly open, and your heart is true, then you understand this song on its purest level.
