This album is awesome. It is a shame that mainstream radio doesn't play bands like this. Great songwriting and music. My personal favorite band.

The Turnpike Troubadours' self-titled album continues the band's tradition of bringing the sounds of the past to contemporary listeners. The album is peppered with Evan's ability to reach the audience at a personal level with the sound of true Red-Dirt music, and salted with R.C, Kyle, Ryan and Gabe's incendiary country sound. The album gives listeners an easy go-to when they are looking for a tireless and colorful sound track to get to know, and also to find hidden gems in.

These guys will give you a dosage of "prescribed depression" while listening to some of their songs and make you smile as you reminisce of your younger days. They're the best at writing breakup songs, completely disregarding the current Nashville formula for shattered hearts. Their sounds are absolutely genuine and make it okay for me to wait another two years before they release another album because I know they won't rush out trashy music.

From Bossier City to Diamonds & Gasoline to Goodbye Normal Street, I just didn't think it could get any better, but this album is amazing. The description of Long Drive Home is completely on point, The Mercury will get you moving, I was the biggest fangirl on Easton & Main, and Ringing in the Year will break your heart. Turnpike is consistently fabulous and this album blew my expectations out of the water! 🤘🏼❤️ Turnpike!

Being able to catch a few shows in spring of 2015, I got to fall in love with "Time of Day" & "Down Here" before the album came out. But when it did "The Mercury" blew me away. "The Bird Hunters" is total greatness , & "7 Oaks" is just awesome. There is just not one bad song because Turnpike does not make bad songs, I love them all. Not to mention they are the best live!!
