I listen to this when I’m driving in my car or out on my run. Either way boosts the speed. A good listen.

I am so glad I discovered Marc. Straitjacket could have been written about my husband and I. I love the honesty of stalemate which is another song I really relate to. Christian music in particular could use a huge dose of honesty and I was happy to find it here. None of that shiny happy perfect fakeness. Don’t get me wrong this is not depressing music but it does tell it like it is at times and I appreciate that.
  • Geez this guy can sing...

He can definitley sound lkie himself ;) - the Freddie thing is obviously a voice he puts on better than anyone. His Marc voice is lovely. Great diversity in these tracks too.

I discovered Marc Martel because of his involvement with the Queen Extravaganza, but he has so much more to offer than just wonderfully re-creating Queen songs. Take one of the best vocalists you've ever heard, (including Mr. Mercury) combine that with some solid songwriting, and you've got a great CD. There's lot's of variety here, with everything from "Dead Ringer", (fun, infectious, and tongue-in-cheek) to the complex and Queen-like rocker, "Paradise", to the beautiful, lilting, acoustic sound of "The Remake (High Hopes)". One of my favorites is the title track, "Impersonator", which gives the listener an introspective take on what it must be to have worked as a successful musician in your own right your entire life, only to finally find fame, not so much because of that work, but for possessing an amazing voice that sounds hauntingly like one of the best rock vocalists of all time. A little sobering, yet beautiful. "Ringo Starr" addresses a similar thread, yet on a much lighter note, describing the complexity of stepping into a skin that is very different from your own. All the way round, there's not a bad track on the disc. Even if you weren't a Queen fan; I highly recommend this.

A great up beat rock n' roll album that is needed in today's music industry. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Marc's solo material in the future. He's a great artist that deserves the recognition.
