Ever since stumbling upon his Four Songs EP in 2004 with Red Ankles being my favorite, I have loved every album of Matt Pond's. He's just as good in concert (I've seen him three times). His music strikes a chord with me in that it displays just the right amount of happiness and melancholia needed to keep me going. This album, Winter Lives, is an unbelievable walk down memory lane during my childhood In Winter. The first two songs, In Winter and The Glow, are my favorites. I'm a lover of plush soft rock/pop music and Matt Pond is El Rey of this musical genre. I've listened to this CD over and over again and if it were a long playing vinyl album, I would definitely be on my second one. Keep up the good work Matt Pond (and Chris) and thank you for releasing music that allows me to reminisce about my life and feel both happy and sad at the same time. That's a good thing!
