This is a beautiful collection of music by the amazingly talented composer Christopher M. Allport. From the opening chants of the title track, Arise Awake o Christmas Day, to the a capella closing track Lo How A Rose E'er Blooming, the album keeps me listening and intrigued over and over again. The title track, Arise Awake o Christmas Day, is an magnificent blend of harmonies, warmth, and imagery that inspires feelings of hope and love. I especially love Lords Prayer, a tender piece sung by a female choir with a beautiful string orchestra. Christopher wrote a second verse to the traditional Lord’s Prayer and set it to music, and the result is breathtaking. Christopher M. Allport has the unique ability to evoke powerful emotions with his music, whether it's the first time listening to a piece or the tenth time. His use of top studio musicians--the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra and the Tim Davis studio singers--combined with the perfection evident in the post-production, lead to a beautiful, rich, high-quality album. I look forward to adding more of Christopher's music to my collection in the future, and in the mean time I plan to play this album on repeat. It's one that can be listened to year-round, so do yourself a favor and get a copy for you and all your friends.
