I love how Jack takes a song that sounds so upbeat and positive, but when you stop to listen to the lyrics, you have a chance to hear how depressing it really is. You can feel how much of himself he puts into his music and lyrics.

I honestly hated this album at first. After the exhilarating, 80’s esque explosion of sound from Strange Desire, this totally put me off at first. But despite my initial trepidation, giving this a few listens made this one of my favorite albums of 2017. Once the lyrics, delivery, instrumentation, hooks, and fantastic melodies sank in, I couldn’t (and still can’t) stop myself from listening to this album at least once every few days. Jack Antonoff is the core of this band, and he’s a GENIUS musician, even if that means he is misunderstood sometimes. The vocal delivery, as well as the wonderful instrumentation, paint perfect pictures of personal situations, real life problems. This is a perfect example of how pop can still have quality, while having grooves and hooks that keep you dancing and singing into your hairbrush. Within this album, (as well as Strange Desire), you will find some truly touching pieces. This band is not only a love letter to the 80’s, it’s a love letter to the soul. Best 3 songs: Everybody Lost Somebody, All My Heroes, Don’t Take The Money

Bleachers has that 80s sound I love so much. Reminds me of John Hughes films and British pop.
  • Remarkably capturing

Bleachers truly has a different sound then any other artist. I feel like I'm listening him read personal journal entry's. This album completely captures what pain and happiness sound like together.
