Well, I've been a fan of The Orb for a long time and I was pretty disappointed by this CD. Though the songs have much more rhythm and beat to them, they just aren't as entertaining as their other CDs. What you hear in the sample, is pretty much the whole song in most cases, and the songs are somewhat similar to each other so its easy to get bored from them pretty quickly. Not their best CD by any means.
Finally, The Orb Has Landed Again

Even though The Orb never truly disappeared from the scene, I was disheartened by the change of direction that the music took after the departure of Andy Hughes from the project, leaving me with "Orblivion" as what I felt to be the final chapter of the The Orb that I grew to know and love. However, it seems to have finally happened that Thomas Feldman's sensiblilties have ceased to dominate Alex Patterson's and their styles have begun to fully mesh in the way earlier Orb projects did.
This album was a pleasant surprise from the first track and continued to keep me all the way through. After the first listen I knew that it would quickly grow to be one of my Orb favorites along with "Orbus Terrarum" and "Orblivion."
Pure Rapture

This is a welcome departure from what can sometimes be overstimulation from The Orb. The choice to move to Kompakt and towards a more minimal aesthetic will likely yield the creation of some of the masterworks of modern music.
The Orb Is Back!

Alright Orbies! Harken back to yonder days of spaced-out Orb bits and you'll be close to Okie-Dokie's orbit. Of course, there is no going back, only forward, and this album breaks new ground. There is some primo ambient here, but the iTunes review gets it wrong- Paterson's humor is very distinct on Captain Korma. This album picks up right where Orbus Terrum left off but also has the maturity of seasoned spacemen at the wheel.
I'll be catching The Orb Live in Washington, DC on Friday -- So glad they decided to visit the U.S. again.
Better than some, not nearly as good as others

To start off this is better than Cydonia or Bicycles & Tricycles, which were both awful overall despite glimmers of greatness. With that said, Okie Dokie doesn't hold a candle to any of the early Orb efforts - it's not even in the same league. This album lacks cohesiveness (it's easy to see that it is in part a compilation of singles) and has no real 'hook' at any point. The songs are all harmless and devoid of any real imagination or creativity - there's not enough here to be terrible, in essence. For Orb completionists only.
Solid Orb Album

This album at times it reminds me of the Patterson/Fehlmann project FFWD, but with less trippy guitar and more rhythm. It also brings to mind the work of System 7 and Sun Electric. I wouldn't rate this as the Orb's best album, but it has some really nice tracks and a good overall vibe. If you like the more contemplative tracks on Orbus Terrarum and Pomme Fritz then you will surely enjoy this album.
Okie Dokie it's Thomas Felman on Kompakt

"Not even music" - Hilarious! The orb isn't for everyone, but fans who may have been dissapointed by their last few might feel the same about this one. With very few samples, It sounds exactly like Thomas Felmans latest work - repetitive heavy 4/4 loops without any quirky voice samples. Still pretty deace work though for the big fans.
A little like Orvus

I keep thinking owbow lakes is gonna come after every song. Should just stop that. Love the Orb, love Patterson. The album is good.
Good Stuff!

This is Orb returning to its roots. The music is much more akin to UF Orb or other earlier works, though it lacks in the odd vocal samples and other weirdities that Alex P employed in those releases.
And unlike Cydonia / Bicycles & Tricycles, the sound remains pretty consistently similar across the whole album. It sounds like an album and not just a collection of random tracks.
Definitely a worthy addition to any Orb fan's collection. If you are new to the Orb, I would point you to Little Fluffy Clouds and the associated tracks. Or Blue Room -- always Blue Room.
Not Bad

While much better than Bikes & Trikes or Cydonia, it seems like much of The Orb's original sound has been lost. This album sounds remarkably similar to the work of Vladislav Delay/Luomo, which isn't a bad thing. Like the iTunes/All Music review says, this album is a prime example of what happens when innovators respond to the work of those they influenced. Overall a good album with Captain Korma being the standout track IMHO.
