I am a hardcore SONE, but this left me cold. It’s generic, oversexed western pop and sounds like the boring crap already clogging up contemporary radio. Hope she’ll develop her own sound in the future.

I love Tiffany. She was so amazing in Girls Generation and when she went solo with I just Want To Dance, I was ecstatic. I love that song so much I still listen to it every single day. It's one of my favorite songs this decade and I was extremely sad when she had to stop her music. How could this much talent just stop?? With her US Debut I will be supporting her always. This is an amazing song and she continues where she left off, strong!! Keep going Tiffany!!!!

I am Chinese and It’s been almost 10 years since I start to support girls generation. Although it is sad that we are most unlikely to see them make a comeback as one again, they were, are and always will be together in my heart. we’ve Been through a lot in the past 10 years, good and bad. But I am just so glad that girls generation is always stand on top of the fashion as well as on the spot light. Whenever I feel tired, i will just listen to their song to keep my spirit up. I don’t think I can find a girls group that is better than girls generation haha. I am Tiffany’s fan and it is always great to listen her voice. She is so nice in person, my friend and I got a lot of signature from here during the autograph session of girls generation ( well, I love other members too) This debut song in US is awesome, it has a western feel and the lyric is just too perfect. Just like the lyric from galaxy supernova, their existence is no.1 in the whole galaxy. Right now it’s girls’ generation, from now on its girls’ generation, forever girls’ generation!! Tiffany fighting!!! SNSD fighting!!! 少女时代你们最棒!

I love Tiffany! She has been and will always be my bias in SNSD. I hope that people around the world recognize her talent and wake up! She came, she sang, she slayed. Can't wait for a mini or full album. English, Korean or both. I don't care. I'm buying it. <3

I've listened to this song about 6 times since its overtly social media pushed release date of June 28th. And after each listening session of mine, I stopped, paused and it didn't do much for me musically, lyrically, vocally, and left me with a sense of "meh". Don't get me wrong. I was a massive fan of Girl's Generation. In fact, dare I say, much of the fandom hype and the reviews on here were from viewers who found them through .mic review of "great music of 2015" after they released their "I Got A Boy" single. So you didn't know Tiffany when she kicked off her start during her "Brighter than Mushroom" days. Or many on here didn't even know their starting days were a 9 member group that cemented their parent company SM Entertainment as a powerhouse in the k-pop genre and I enjoyed SNSD's music, and if you didn't know what SNSD stands for, that shows that you really don't know and while you can have a voice your opinion, don't be ignorant to suggest I'm hating on Tiffany. But I have to be fair and suffice to say, I was underwhelmed with this release. It's trying too hard to be another Brittany Spears. Sure she has her influence FROM Brittany. But the fact remains, it sounds TOO much like Brittany. The quirky pop elements seemed to rip exactly from Brittany's "I'm A Slave 4 U" era where the beats were a bit punchy and the tracks are super-produced. When the song seems to sound exactly like Brittany, you haven't quite found yourself amidst your previous incarnation as the super polished super girlband image that you wanted to shed. But in all honesty, people and publications will only recognize her as Fany from the k-pop supergroup Girl's Generation and she can only ride on the coattails of that for so long before the public will get tired of her. I'm proud that STEPHANIE left to become her own artist and discover her own brand, but I had hoped that this release would give us a flavor of Tiffany that isn't the k-pop sensation but isn't a mirror image of the by-gone solo bubble gum pop girl artist like Brittany Spears or Mandy Moore. My hope was that Tiffany would carve a path that was different from other artists and that this break out didn't ride on the coattails of her previous successes and "Over My Skin" starts off on her GG days and it just feels forced with the production value, vocal quality, and the basic demeanor of the song as well as the lyrics seem too 2000s era pop. The song itself from a musical, production value, vocal value doesn't deliver as I had hoped. The music seems to borrow from the "I'm A Slave 4 U" catalog. It doesn't have much in terms of originality in the melody and rhythm other than seeing girls try to gyrate to the beat which based on the dance version shown on YouTube, Tiffany starts off as a sex object herself and I don't how much I can appreciate that. It's like Brittany didn't start with "Baby, One More Time" but started off with "Toxic". The production value seems forced. The biggest disappointment to the song is Tiffany's vocal. She is a powerhouse. A very clear range, a super emotionally deep resonance, and a perfect pitch quality rivaling that of Whitney Houston (Tiffany has done Whitney covers and Tiffany hits it all perfectly!) and this song does not afford Tiff the ability to show that off. It's too produced and takes away from her vocals which I know she can blast and this was what was the most disappointing to me was the lack of depth to her vocal quality. It was played safe and that isn't a safe place to start for an emerging artist. And if anyone has seen the dance video on YouTube, it's the same trodded up thing most "mature" girl pop artists are known to emerge into. And it's not tasteful, creative, or original. Choreographed by French choreographer, Yanis Marshall, who got his start off on social media and blew up on Britian's Got Talent, who's flamboyancy is what made the attempt to help Tiffany with her dances but there's nothing that sets the dancing and the song apart from anything that's out there. I know she can take off but this song is playing it safe for a general market that will only spit her out if she's not careful and I don't want to see that happen for her because she left the security of SM Entertainment and they aren't there to back her up anymore and to be simply forgotten as just another run of the mill pop artist with no depth or breadth of creativity could spell the end for Tiffany... and she just got started. And that's my concern.
