Garrett’s spent 6 (or more) years working on this album, and it definitely shows. This entire album oozes personality, meaning, and absolutely clean songs. Notable mentions being Get Along, Thin Ice, What If I’m Hurt Again, and my personal favorite, Switch, which was redone for the album. Genuinely my favorite album of 2020, and I’d absolutely recommend it. Good job gart

(Actual Raiting: 3.5/5) While the instrumentals on the vocal tracks are absolutely fire, the lyrics can be lacking at times. Overall though, it was good.

Holy crap! Someone who still does reviews on ITunes? Blasphemy! After 6 years of development, Garrett Williamson returns with his latest album Middle of Somewhere. Right off the bat, this album was well worth the wait! For starters, you can’t really pinpoint what genre this album is a part of, as it ranges from R&B, funk, pop, rock and many more. This keeps the listener on their toes, wondering what will come next. One of my favorite songs is Thin Ice, which sounds like Michael Jackson if he wrote a sort of punk rock song! The track is hard-hitting in its musicianship and features an excellent vocal performance from Garrett. Speaking of vocals, Garrett shines all the way throughout the album, on tracks like the groovy as hell “Your Way” and the funk-inspired “Get Along” which features wonderful guest vocals from his sister Emma Rose. The excellent harmonies are what makes this album so much fun to sing along to. The musicianship is , as one would expect from Garrett. It’s all rich, vibrant and colorful, never feeling forced or phoned in. Chase Akers, one of Garrett’s best friends, kills it with the guitars. They’re simple and playful on the banger of a track “What If I’m Hurt Again. The solos on tracks like the aforementioned “Your Way” and “Switch” adds a ton spice to the record along with the excellent bass work on “Thought of You.” One of flaw I do have with MOS (and this is a bit nitpicky) would have to be the instrumental interludes. There are times when it works well like the opening track “Garden of Eden” (which leads perfectly into “Get Along”) and the gorgeous piano piece that is “Tracie Grace.” But other tracks like “Voice Mail” and “Kind of Expensive” feel a bit pointless and don’t really add much to the overall experience. They feel like they are there just to pad out time for the album. I also kinda wish that the new version of “Switch” led right into the closing title track instead of a fade out. Again, just nitpicky stuff. Overall, Middle of Somewhere is another excellent piece of music from the legend himself, Garrett Williamson. You can tell he put his all into this project and it really shows. Great music like this, isn’t easy to come by and I hope this record gets him more recognition. In a year where the world feels like it’s about explode at any second, sometimes music is all we need to feel good. I highly recommend this album to everyone and it is definitely getting a spot on my best-of-the-year list. 5/5

Seriously, this album left me with tears, goosebumps, and many more feelings and emotions I can’t get into. This has been a long time coming, and was WELL worth the wait. By far my favorite album from Garrett. Give it a listen

Pop may not be my favorite genre; however, Garrett really does a beautiful job at making pop as funky and jazzy as it can be. I am super amazed at how much he's grown musically since his first release in 2012. Great job man. I'm so happy to be part of this community.
