Aubrey does it again with another fantastic album. Some classics and new originals, her smooth trombone tone sure does shine like the Sunny Side of the Street!

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear this great voice talent. Her voice and delivery is amazing. There is so much character in her voice and sound. In addition to being a excellent trombone player. The quality and character of her voice is thick and rich when necessary but thin and tasteful always. Well produced sound is great. You will not be disappointed. This should be a classic on how to sing jazz. Kudos!!!

Aubrey Logan has a wealth of talent as a vocalist and playing the trombone. This album has a variety of tunes we all know, but done in her unique style. The most surprising tune was Doxology, one that I had heard and performed during church services. Her arrangment leaves the piece recognizable but then departs with a jazz beat. Another tune, the Streisand classic The Way We Were, is done wonderfully. The album Standard is another great collection of music by one of my favorite musicians.

If you're looking for a beautiful tapestry of music spanning decades of song and instrumentals that qualify as "standards," this album is for you! This lovely album includes everything from Jimmy McHugh's and Dorothy Fields' 1930 classic, On The Sunny Side Of The Street, a gorgous trombone rendition of Dreams by Fleetwood Mac conjuring the memory of Stevie Nicks, to MacArthur Park. Aubrey Logan brings the full breadth of her musical talent to bear in this latest effort, which features songs from multiple genres, including jazz, funk, love songs, and 1970s classics. Aubrey Logan's clear and expansive vocal range, combined with her instrumental virtuosoty on the trombone, will keep you smiling for days and make your ears beg for more. I'd highly recommend this album to everyone who loves and appreciates good music, especially those who have a thing for American musical nostalgia! Buy this album TODAY! :-)

Aubrey Logan is a dynamic jazz vocalist and trombonist. Her newest album is a collection of solid gold renditions of great tunes enhanced by a performance that is virtuosic and full of energy and fun. The album opens with “On The Sunny Street.” Aubrey utilizes some excellent vocal gymnastics with octave leaps in the original melodic line. Her improvised trombone solo likewise exhibits some great chops and musical ideas. Her version of “Here’s That Rainy Day,” combines a heart wrenching delivery at the top juxtaposed with an ebullient and more upbeat Latin feel. Logan turns on the romance with beautiful renditions of “Save Your Love For Me,” and “The Way We Were.” Aubrey is not afraid to show her sense of humor with a fun piece of opera with “Largo Al Factotem” from Rossini’s The Barber of Seville. Jazz musicians have always had a reputation for taking what one of my music profs would call “a dumb pop song” and make it better. Logan’s creativity shines in her version of the Sonny and Cher hit “The Beat Goes On.” A successful songwriter herself, Logan’s original “Louboutin’s 2.0” is worthwhile on its very own. Her version of Stevie Nicks’ “Dreams” demonstrates that Aubrey’s trombone playing is not just about moving the slide real fast, but that she is a sensitive musician who can phrase with beauty. STANDARD is without a doubt an album worth your time and money. You will not regret exploring this wonderfully gifted musician!
