Lo-Fi should never be in metal. Darkthrone is doing themselves a grave disservice by the horrible production. At least, buy a new snare drum. This album is unlistenable

Eternal Hails..... is Darkthrone’s 19th studio album. And it is an excellent example of how a band remains constantly changing by building on their original formula. Darkthrone clearly has gone for a much slower, atmospheric sound on this album. It almost feels sometimes like listening to some doom metal Celtic Frost, or Black Sabbath, injected with black metal that Darkthrone has always remained stellar at creating. It’s good. Go buy it. Now!

Upon hearing this masterpiece I laughed, I cried, I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. I'm left empty like a pair of ragged claws scurrying across the floors of silent seas.

Darkthrone have been heading in this direction over the past couple albums. A completely stripped down, mood oriented, doomy take on black metal. The riffs are full of atmosphere and emotion and are probably the best part. The songs are all massive with long run times and many many riffs. Love it
