Holy Diver (2022 Joe Barresi Remix)

Front to back, this album is not a staple, but a tattoo in the rock/metal genre. Dio is hands down one of the best vocalists ever! Also, flawless mixing and mastering, Joe. You killed it and I love the little studio snippets before some of the songs. Makes this re-release more intimate and personal. Spinning this endlessly!

This is the 5th reissue I now own of this incredible album. I think the remix definitely gives a better separation of the instruments, but all the 4 counts at the beginning of almost every song leaves me wondering if I actually like that or not. It's cool hearing their voices in the studio, makes it sound more live and organic, but I'm so used to not hearing it that it's kind of annoying. All in all, Joe did a great job on the remix, maybe a bit too loud, but that seems to be the nature of the beast these days. I still prefer the Japanese remasters of the first 4 albums, too bad most fans in the US haven't heard those. They're great!
