  • Vibrato = scary

The cellist's vibrato is WAY to fast. It makes even the Allegro pieces seem frantic and uncomfortable.
  • Good Recording...

I too have played this piece, both from the orchestra part and the solo cello part and I must say, I'm impressed with this recording. Although I must admit, I'm not a stickler for reading the music exactly as written. I prefer to...mix it up a but and add some of the personality of the musician playing. It always makes it interesting to hear what each cellist adds to the piece. If I just heard the same thing over and over again, I might as well just listen to the same CD. Personally, I liked it quite a bit!
  • Not a great performance

I've played this concerto, so I'm familiar with it, and I was displeased with this reading. It sounds sloppy and messy, and I was puzzled to hear him transpose part of the third movement down an octave. A strange recording that sounds under-rehearsed.

This is not a peice by J.S. Bach, but by his son J.C. Bach. That is why you have never heard of it.
