Shame on you itunes for hiding this under Kenny Loggins instead of Loggins and Messina. One of the best groups of their day. Loggins not the same without Messina. The Poco boy had an edge. Tight group. Great timing! Angry Eyes one of my all time favorites songs!

Honestly this is very good. Very very good. But sit down and listen to Mother Lode for old times sake. It’ll blow your mind how good and how modern and relevant it sounds. These guys were simply without peer in song writing arranging or musicianship.
Criminally underrated. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

One of the earliest albums I bought, a couple of years after it came out. I still love listening to it. Loggins and Messina were way underrated back in the 70's, in my opinion. I only wish they had included the single version of "Thinking of You", which is much more lively and upbeat than the album version. Single version is almost impossible to find (I found the 45 through E-bay).

This album is the quinessential of rock/county/jazz all in one. Golden Ribbons(anti war song-Vietnam) will give you chills. Angry eyes(break-up) has the best soulful sax solo,Till the Ends Meet(romance) Loggins voice is the best ever. If I had one album of theirs I pick this followed by Sittin'-In.I've given this cd as gifts to various friends who never really knew L&M but are fans now 30 years later.Your Mama Don"t Dance might be the worst song of the bunch here. Buying this Loggins & Messina album and Sittin' In might be the best $20.00 ever spent on music.

This album takes me back!! This is a 70s MASTERPIECE!! This is one of those albums that if your grandchildren ask you about the "Good ol' Days? .... You'd throw this one on!! This album is tender ... it rocks, has GREAT harmony and guitar work. THERE IS NOTHING MEDIOCRE about this one! The term is used a lot ... but this album is truly a CLASSIC!!!!

This is a classic Loggins AND Messina album. Why is this listed as Kenny Loggins? He never could have made this without Messina. Well worth the price of admission - music deep in structure, form, melody, harmony, and arrangement. Hard press to find that in pop music in 2008 ... But it's Loggins AND Messina iTunes.
