Listen to the 4th track Guitar Solo. Amazing work by Leslie West. This is probably the best Mountain live album. Never in my Life is well done, so is Theme for an imaginary western, Silver paper, Blood of the sun, and the guitar solo. The version of Mississippi Queen is not very strong, but it doesnt matter. If you like live albums AT ALL, then buy this album.

While this is a decent set for completists, I wouldn't consider this one of Mountain's best live efforts. The absence of Corky Laing and Steve Knight is all too obvious and it's pretty clear from the performances and interviews from the period that this was a thrown together tour and album to fulfill label and contractual obligations. To really hear the band in top form, listeners should seek out Flowers Of Evil here on ITunes or the long out of print Road Goes Ever On. Far superior live sets.

Anyone that knows Mountain is aware of the fact that Leslie and the band can get a little sloppy, and the group doesn't always "connect". Not here. Leslie West's playing is superb and the rythym section is right on. Pappalardi and West also show some of their better live vocals on this record. For any Mountain fan, or if you're new to the group, this is a must. DESERVES TO BE PLAYED LOUD!!
  • Great "ride"

Have to disagree with the review: this long version of Nantucket Sleighride is great, it's just not a 3-chord rock'n'roller. Especially good for long highway drives, etc, when you can settle in and let it build.

This is one my favorite live albums ever. This baby was meant to be played loud "REAL LOUD", not a bad song on it. Crank it up and rock on out.
