    The Kinderszenen sound deceptively simple. Schumann, in my mind, was not a particularly pianistic composer. But Horowitz here has achieved something of a miracle. There is no other artist that can approach these interpretations. Schumann has always been consigned to the backseat of my musical preferences, but here he raises to the level of the greats.
