The Source is a great body of work. It's intellectual yet honest and entertaining. Desdamona takes you into her world and wins you over with her play on words and melody. My absolute favorite track is " Miss America" and "Infinity". I enjoy the remixes. DEFINATELY get this CD

If you're easily bored by music, and many of today's cookie cutter artists...this is definitely an album to download in entirety! I would pick a favorite track, but I can't. It's the only cd I've heard in well over a year where there isn't a "skip track". Desdamona is BEYOND talented, and she crosses so many genres on this single album, it's almost ridiculous. If you're a fan of jazz, neo soul, hip hop, spoken word, reggae and/or just appreciating the words of an artist who deserves to be known the world over...check out this album! I hope she makes 100 more!

This CD is the best! It has a variety of music styles and subject matter, but the main thing it has is CLASS! Desdamona has a way of using words to actually tell a story that will make you laugh, cry or at least relate to. I have lots of favorites on this CD. "Refracted Light" is a wonderful song about family. "Orange and Blue" and "Mellow Blue" are sultry jazzy tunes. "Faulty Fuses" and "Miss America" are sad stories about abused women - very powerful messages. I've never heard music that says so much! It seems to me that "The Source" is all about Des's love for humanity - very cool - or hot!

For those who dig the jazzy hip hop stylings of Floetry, Tribe Called Quest, Digable Planets and Ladybug Mecca you will dig this record! It is smooth from beginning to end and remixes from Sly & Robbie are solid and complement the mood of the album. This is real Hip Hop and true art!
