I was looking up some post rock groups and I stumbled across 65daysofstatic. Of course, this album was the first I've heard from them but omg after hearing this, I had to go out and buy their discography! This album.....all of them have their own story, musically experimental and unique, and its just plain brilliant. Its like a symphony with modern instruments. In my opinion, this is real music! I love you gais!!!!

When I first heard 65daysofstatic's "Retreat! Retreat!" I knew I had to have to entire album. Unfortunately this was 2004 and I was living in the middle of Iowa. I remember contacting the label directly (at that time it was not yet available in the US), mailing them a check and having them ship me a copy of this CD in a padded envelope. It was totally worth it! Their sound continues to stand out in a sea of copycat electronic noise. This has remained one of my favorite albums and one of the few physical CD's that I still play in the day of the iPod. The fact that you could now buy it with a few mouse clicks blows my mind a little bit. So what are you waiting for? Why haven't you clicked that button yet?

I'm not sure what other word is out there to describe this group! It was by luck I fell upon them and let me just say, I'm happy I did. I'm surprised that shows, movies, etc. haven't grabbed 65daysofstatic. This album is a story itself and only told through music. Imagine using that in a movie. I advise everyone to buy the whole album and listen to it. It is mind-blowing.
  • It's like a soundtrack for a groundbreaking movie that never existed...

Just saw them live opening for The Cure. Though they look like they're all playing in different bands onstage, the music was top-notch. Great feel--very theatrical, giving the impression that there is a story somewhere behind this eclectic, hard-edged sound. I felt immediately transported to some kind of mechanical "otherworld" while watching them play. Outstanding work.

One of the most underrated bands out today delivers an explosive set of electrofying instrumental rock that pushes boundaries like few artists ever will. If you ever have the chance to see these songs live, do so for you will not be disappointed. if you have not heard them prepare for this to be an album that will keep you pushing rewind because these songs are unlike anything you will ever hear.
