I was introduced to Brett Dennen around the time 'Lover Boy' hit the shelves. I immediately fell in love with the hooks and joys of his song writing. I also purchase 'Hope For the Hopeless'. The sound was pretty consistently catchy and poppy in my eyes.
So when i saw he was coming to town, i was pretty jazzed, and it happened at a time where i was looking for a good place to take my now girlfriend on a first date. The show was better than i could have imagined, but some of the most powerful songs he sung, i had never heard. So needless to say, i came to itunes and bought this album to see where it started. The acoustic guitar is perfect at every moment. This is the stripped down, all Brett music. It has a message, it has the voice, and it has something that we will never grow weary of... A dreamy acoustic guitar.

I haven't listened to any other music by Brett Dennen yet, except "Blessed". This song has an approximate 30-second instrumental intro, which I love. It's so simple, but so fun. "Blessed" is lighthearted, fun, and basically communicates the love of life. Definitely a song to listen to as you're driving to the beach with the windows rolled down!

I haven't enjoyed a full album as much as this one since Tracy Chapman's debut. Every song is uplifing, inspiring, and just leaves you feeling G-O-O-D... If you appreciate good music, especially of the singer-songwriter genre, I promise you'll have never spent a better $5.99. Get the album- or at least "Blessed" and "When I Go". "Some people are learning to die, some people are yearning to fly... I know we'll all be yearning to fly..." Keep singing loud and proud Brett! Love, love, love it!
