What a beautiful addition to Jerry's collection! This album showcases his ability to go beyond a 'session player' - Jerry is accompanying Travis Tritt on a concert tour, which we were able to attend (front row!) Jerry and Travis equally shared the spoltight and t times, Jerry stole the show!. Excellent work, Jerry! I couldn't wait to D/L this album to hear that dobro and Steel guitar playing again, and again, and again!!

Really enjoyed this. Another jewel in the crown of Mr. Douglas. I have enjoyed his work for years especially his collaborations with Edgar Meyer, Bela Fleck, Russ Barenberg, and Sonny Landreth. This album is no exception in that the track "Two Small Cars in Rome" with Lloyd Green is one of the best cuts. I remember in the old days when Jerry played at the Down Home he was always at his best when he was with excellent musicians that pushed him. He has never done a bad album and this one will also stand the test of time.

Route Irish made my soul sing. I could almost smell the dust again. That song brought tears to my eyes and I don't get emotional.

Yes, this is music one must listen into. No commercial lyrics, no glitz, no gimmicks…purely food for the soul! Thanks Jerry, another superb example of your craft.

This is another stellar album by one of the most gifted musicians. Those who do not like instrumental albums shouldn't be listening to this, let alone reviewing it- although Travis Tritt and Rodney Crowell both do a wonderful job on the two vocal tracks. If you appreciate true quality in music, then this album will "speak" to you for sure.

  • Something Different From The World's Best Dobro Player

There is certainly little argument that Jerry Douglas is the world's best dobro player and on "Glide," his first solo album since 2005, Douglas and co. cross plenty of boundaries to keep him not only with his "best" title, but also open up the door for new fans to see what all the fuss is about. Fans of Bela Fleck are going to eat this album up on tracks like "Bounce," "Pushed Too Far," and "Unfolding," but for the long-time fans it simply doesn't get any better than "Home Sweet Home," and "Glide." Douglas has crafted a fine record here and it's definitely one that shouldn't be missed whether you're a devout follower of him or perhaps just a casual fan of his work with Allison Krauss & Union Station.
