  • The Bible Performance

Late in his life, Kodaly told Starker that this was the "Bible performance" of this work, which is arguably the greatest work written for solo cello other than Bach's 6 Suites. If you are coming to this work afresh, perhaps after devouring Bach's suites, you need to know that this work is tougher to grasp but well worth the effort. In sum, an amazing performance of an amazing work.
