Once upon a time, back in the 1970's, some recording engineers took the heavy metal version of Sweet's "Fox On The Run," cleaned up the sound, added a lot of synthesizers and vocal harmonies, and invented power pop. Since then the genre has been worked nicely by bands like Styx, Yes, and Night Ranger, to name a few, and their influence is pretty obvious in the sound of this album. The sound of power pop has always been characterized by overdriven guitar, lots of keyboards, and sweet vocal harmonies, and all of those features are on display in this album. This album is evenly divided between synthesizer driven ballads and guitar driven rockers, all of them wonderful to listen to. Miku shows tremendous range and flexibility here, but is never better than when she hits a sustained high over the guitar and synthesizer tracks. If you are a fan of 1970's and 1980's rock, you will love this album. Domo Arigato, Missy Roboto!
