Music: The inspiration of the Human Spirit

There is no greater feeling than when you take a moment for yourself to listen, in complete silence, to "Sanctus" which is in my opinion, after having met and worked with Mr. Gjeilo personally, to be nothing less then an out-of-body experience. Although it is a faily simple piece of sight-reading, the sound of the blended SATB voices is unparalled and grand.Truely it is his finest work and should stand as a trademark of his career. "Ubi Caritas" follows as another inspiring piece as well as the unexpected excitement of "Unicornis Captivator". I find that his choral works are as intricate as his Stone Rose compilations. Piano, clearly is not his only strongsuit. I am not telling those who come upon this review to "buy this CD right now!" as many reviewers may divulge too hastily. But, if you truely have a love of chamber voices, if you believe that the sound of a choir can uplift and create the purest of feelings in the human spirit, please select "Sanctus" as your first of Gjeilo's music, and I guarantee that you will understand the true power of choral music.
