I bought this on vinyl recently…I previously didn't enjoy The Moonshiner and Jug of Punch on other albums because the songs were very slow… But the versions of those 2 on this one are perfect! Almost makes me wonder if the recordings were intentionally/accidentally slowed down on other albums…singer and music sounds the same. Love to play this record and sing while doing the dishes! The Old Orange Flute version here is so much fun! Highly recommend!!

This recording contains many wonderful Irish songs that are often not heard today. The listener is transported to an Irish Pub of an earlier time. Anyone who likes Irish songs will be delighted.

I listened to this album on cassette tape when I was growing up, but the tape finally gave up its ghost after too much play. We searched frantically for the album, but couldn't find it anywhere. Finding this again was fantastic! I've waited a good ten years to hear this album again, and I still maintain it was some of the best recordings by the Clancy Brothers, hands down.

I've been looking for this album for 20 years. It is an absolute joy to hear it again. This is the very best of this type of music.

This is the best album in my eyes of the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. I love these song versions compared to their other versions. Also the talking that they do in between songs. For example in between Haul Away Joe and Young Roddy McCorley a child (from what I think) is whining then hits their parent. A must buy in my opinion.

You want a taste of authentic Irish music? This is it - perhaps the greatest grouping of Irish songs ever, performed by the best performers of the time. Our original album wore out. This is the best Clancy/Makem performance, and really shows them at their best - loose, funny, and crowd pleasing. An extremly entertaining Irish music tour de force. Do yourself a favor and purchase this.

This album was a favourite in our household in the 70s--to the point where it scratched, skipped, and wore due to overuse. It is a sheer delight for all Clancy & Makem fans to finally hear this music clearly. You haven't heard real Irish music until you've listened to the Clancys with Tommy Makem.

This album captures the link between Ireland and the 60s folk scene in the village. Put this in a time caplsule somewhere along with Bach and Leadbelly. Timeless.
