Just saw these guys in Fredricksburg Texas and was pleasantly surprised. I feel like I robbed somebody, cause I got to see them free. Great mix of blues, progressive rock and country. In their live. Performance they play Willie Nelson's "Whiskey River" better than Willie Nelson does. They played each song on this album and I like the fresh approach that they bring. Great album, highly recommended.

I've had the distinct pleasure of seeing these guys a few times here in PA and they never fail to deliver. Big time. Definitely recommend both albums and get out to a live show if they come your way.

I saw these guys at a little bar in Texas. Unbelievable stuff. Had the whole place in awe for the lengthy set. Don't hesitate to grab this whole album. The stuff is full of emotion and hits at all levels.

I run the sound at a local venue. Uncle Lucius played on a Thursday night to a crowd of only 15 people, but you would have thought it was 1500. I see 3-6 bands a week and no one comes close to how amazing these guys are. From the sweet throbbing hum of John's organ playing and the smooth Page-esque guitar work of Mike to the solid low end of Hal's wicked bass and Josh's precise and sensitive drum work, all culminating with four part harmonies supporting Kevin's powerful and soulful vocals. It's like having melted butter poured right in your ears. If you can see Uncle Lucius live, make it happen, if not, buy this album, close your eyes, turn it on, and wait to be transported.
  • Amazing. Period.

Saw these guys live at a small bbq joint in tyler tx and have been a fan ever since. $9.99 is a steal for music of this quality. Their eclectic mix of southern rock and blues with hints of gospel and zydeco will surely impress. If, by chance, they come to your town, or even close, make the trip to see them. If you enjoy the album they'll blow you away live.

I was in Dallas due to a missed flight connection a few months ago so had no plans and came across a place called Lee Harveys and saw that this band called Uncle Lucius was playing - after playing a few samples of their songs online I knew we had to go see them. The outdoor setting, Pabst Blue Ribbon and their stage presence made for an unforgettable evening. We had a great time and when I got back to LA, had to buy this album and it was not a disappointment - it's rare these days that entire albums are great and this one is phenomenal. Love the music with hints of Darius Rucker tonality and also the stories the songs tell. Have recommended UL to lots of friends and hoping they come to LA to play soon! They definitely got soul.
