I love "The Priests" and the music they choose to sing. This was a Christmas gift and the recipient was so happy to receive it.

I bought this CD for the Stabat Mater (which is amazing) but I fell in love with Bi Iosa Im Chroise. WOW! It's great and I love that they are parish priests. God Bless them.
  • Another triumph for The Priests!!

I have been anxiously awaiting this second CD by The Priests, the phenomenal vocal trio from Northern ireland (who are indeed full-time parish priests!!), and the wait has been worth it. While I think that some of the song choices are a bit "safe" (classics like "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art"), their execution of them is flawless and they breathe new life into them. I much prefer the songs sung in Latin: "Laudamus Te", "Stabat Mater", Ave Verum Corpus", and "Te Deum". The standout of the Latin songs for me is the quiet and dramatic "Benedictus". Once again, there are songs sung in Irish and in German and there is an original composition by The Priests called "King of Kings" which hints at the potential songwriting abilities of these three amazing men. A wonderful companion album to go with their eponymous first CD.

Gorgeous singing. These guys are full time Priests, not vocal majors. They did great! Nice holiday album.

It's not so bad for pretend classical genre. Their vocals are slightly above average for this sort of fluff but the arraingments have a lot to be desired. It would probablly be better suited under the christian/gospel genre. -Bz
