A pinnacle of achievement for the Spokane Symphony Orchestra. However, it is spelled "SPOkane", not "SOPkane", guys.
  • Droolez is a dope.

"I really wanted to say something not that nice.." that is the starting point for Boolez on every record he reviews which he bases on listening to the samples as he clearly doesn't have a job or a life. Disregard his 10,000 reviews as nonsense. Anyway, the real story behind this record is Thomas Hampson coming home. A native of Spokane he had a chance to record with this small budget orchestra in America because he wanted to. Not only has he always been a champion of American song, but he was a champion whilst spending most of his time in Europe these last 20 years. Good feelings abound with this new strong piece by MD. A final note to Boolez, put down the lube, move out of your parents house, and get a life.

not that nice about the album but Daugherty's Lincoln piece won me over. Yes, he still retains his usuall wit and humor but somehow manages to keep it in check. It's a moving song setting from start to finish. It's one of the best Lincoln based pieces sense Copland and I hope that it's kept in rotation on the concert circuit. The last two tracks are attributed to Daughtery but are in fact Anton Webern. No need to worry about hesitate about getting those, they where pieces he penned before writting real music. The performances all around are good with the recording quality to match. Well worth getting! -Bz
