This is a great CD.I listened to it straight through from beginning to end. Great melodies, inventive solos, unique grooves and great players. What's not to like? I've always loved Blue Lou's aggressive saxophone style. This is a great collaboration! Five stars all the way.

I've listened to Lou for many years and everything he does is excellent. This CD is no exception. It is a great CD for a "one on one...you and the CD" session when you're ready to chill out and explore something special. It is also a super CD to put on when your friends are over for a little social time. My wife was asking "who is this" within 20 seconds of playing it for the first time. She kept saying "this is great" the entire time it was playing. As you would expect, the players are "Foreplay/Crusaders, etc" good, and the songs have great chord structure that keeps you saying, "wow that was nice" throughout the CD. Needless to say, I own it and I recommend it for everyone. Come on, download it now and join the party!
  • A fantastic mix of traditional and contemporary jazz influences!

Blue Lou Marini (of Saturday Night Live, Blood, Sweat and Tears and Blues Brothers fame) has joined forces with film composer and music producer Misha Segal to create a unique musical presentation. And the all-star musical cast is amazing: guitarist John Tropea (Deodato), bassist Will Lee (Brecker Brothers and the David Letterman Show), percussionist Luis Conte (James Taylor), and bassist Neil Steubenhaus (Al Jarreau and countless other recordings) to name a few. Lou's "take no prisoners" sax solos are truly inspired, as are Misha's piano and keyboard parts. There's something here for all jazz fans: great saxophone ensemble playing, fabulous rhythm section and clever, unique arrangements. I predict that this album will be recognized along with efforts by such groups as Weather Report and the Yellow Jackets. Bravo, Blue Lou and Misha! Can't wait for the next one!

Blue Lou Marini (loved him with The Blues Brothers, on SNL, etc.), Misha Segal and an all-star cast of amazing musicians including Will Lee, John Tropea, Luis Conte to name a few let it all hang out on this album of mostly originals except "That's Not My Name." Each track is super unique, full of character, and unpredictable. Cita Con Cita, Highly Classified and 9/11 War and Transfiguration are standouts for me. A really fun album!
