I luv the music in this album, like taking different songs from different albums and putting them into one album and playing strings. It sounds awesome! That didn't really make any sence.
  • A fantastic re-envisioning of some fantastic (and lesser) songs

Muse's 2009 album, THE RESISTANCE, was a tragic collection of potentially great songs struggling to get out. Most of them didn't make it. The first two tracks on this collection (which is an update on an earlier collection, containing more early songs), show that the writing was there all along and deliver on what "Resistance" and "Uprising" could have been in their original forms. The selections from Muse's first, second, and third albums are also very enjoyable. Strangely, the string quartet versions of tracks from BLACK HOLES & REVELATIONS, while good, don't fare quite as well... possibly because, to my ears, the original album arrangements of those songs was pretty much perfect already. Highly recommended to Muse fans, and to anyone who loves string quartets and wonders what the heck these "Muse" chaps are all about.

Knights of Cydonia was meant to be preformed by a string orchustra. My school's doing this right now and I have to say, it's amazing. However, supermassive black hole, starlight, and some others leave something to be desired.

i like the way muse's music sounds like this, but i feel that it lacks the emotion that muse puts into its music
  • A Wonderful Cover

I don't usually much care for cover bands, but when, say, somebody takes the effort to do a beautiful piano cover of "Fireflies," or when someone writes a perfect arrangement of Muse's "Knights of Cydonia" for string quartet, I find myself really impressed. With just four instruments, the Vitamin String Quartet manages to capture the feel and the spirit of the song, and cast it in a new light. Very much recommended, for any fans of Muse.
  • Love It, but there is a typo
