I've been away from playing guitar for years and getting back into it, so discovering new players. Peter Bernstein has been an incredible find for me. His playing just flows and from traditional to modern lines with a wonderful tone. I've been catching his sets at Smalls on there live stream and Peter has been doing solo sets beside playing with his quartet. I hope they do a solo album for Peter I will get it as soon as its released. If you dig great Jazz guitar you have to pickup some Peter Bernstein.

Peter Bernstein never fails to delight; his blazing chops, tasteful melodicism, and depth of motivic development have made him THE jazz guitarist in New York City. His sidemen are, likewise, first-call players: John Webber and Richard Wyands, who have been in Bernstein's circle of collaborators for years, both play their hardest next to jazz legend Jimmy Cobb, veteran of the bands of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and (one of Bernstein's clear influences) Wes Montgomery. The swing on this record is downright palpable. This CD is a must-have for the contemporary jazz collector.

These guys are the best of the best. Peter Bernstein is for sure one of the top guitarists of the day and Jimmy Cobb has played with EVERYBODY. Miles, Trane, Stitt, Wes, Art Pepper, Dinah Washington, Kenny Burrell, Wynton Kelly and loads more. Truly a legend.

This record should delight all Peter Bernstein fans. With drum legend Jimmy Cobb, pianist Richard Wyands and longtime partner John Webber on bass, this is a no-holds-barred joyful romp through some jazz classics. Bernstein is on fire and also most lyrical throughout. Infused with the gorgeous tone and blues inflection of his personal improvisation. It is clear why he is one of the most influential jazz guitarist of his generation. This was recorded live at the legendary Smalls Jazz Club and is an exciting listening experience. You can feel the energy of the crowd. It feels like you're sitting in the front row while these guys take you on an exquisite journey of swing, blues and real jazz, no joke. I highly recommend this beautiful record.
