Over the Rhine is unquestionably better
live than in studio. Their live performances fully display their mastery of a broad range of genres - from rock to blues to folk to jazz with maybe a bit of country and even swing throw in. Maybe they're best known for ballads,
but to me they're at their best when their blues influence shines through. This album includes one of the greatest single blues performances of all time with an incredibly raw "When I Go". And don't miss "The World Can Wait" if you think they can't rock. Or check out the cover of "Ain't No Sunshine" tagged on to "Lifelong Friend".
