I tend to have a soft spot for the "villain solos" in children movies, but "How Bad Can I Be?" takes the cake. Not only do I love Ed Helm and what he does with the Once-ler, but you can hear his transformation within the song. He goes from denial to justification to just plain not caring within the course of the lyrics, and I just love how they take this character you really like and transform him into a villain in front of your eyes so effectively.

John Powell's the man. That's all there is to it. This is musical storytelling at its finest.
What an incredible composer!

This AND the accompanying sound track with the "songs" from the movie, are really phenomenal. What fantastic composing, I really hope this gets considered when the grammys/oscars roll around again, John deserves it!

How To Train Your Dragon. Rio. PS I Love You. I could name so many more amazing soundtracks that he has made. They're all amazing. I love this guy.
'nuff said.
Another good Powell score

John Powell is the current King of Animation Music! I can't wait for the song album to come out (which, unfortunately, wasn't released through iTunes two weeks in advance of it's previously-announced release date, Feb. 28, unlike this one, which was March 6)!
