Reviews

  • Huh?

I've read some negative reviews for this, and I am baffled. Maybe because it was the first Bingham record I heard - but it made me go out and get the rest of them. This is a FANTASTIC work.

Idk why everyone keeps saying that he is from west texas lol he is from New Mexico but anyways I really wish he would stick to country he sings county a lot better then rock.
  • Weakest Album

Originally, I could not wait for this album to come out. A couple singles came out, not horrible but not really good either, but I expected a lot from it, and it didn't really deliver for me. It's hard not to expect the power he had from Mescolito or Roadhouse Sun to be in this album, but it's not. If your looking for and older bingham style, check out "Beg for Broken Legs", "Western Shore", "I Heard Em' Say". These were very well written, compared to the others, but doesn't save the album. I saw Ryan play a couple of months ago, expecting Tomorrowland to take up a majority of the set and it didn't. He only played 3 songs from Tomorrowland, so maybe he's thinking the same thing we all are. He'll come back
  • What a Fall

For a man who wrote Weary Kind, a great classic, this album is a giant step back by an artist bereft of any good new material. He should have shelved this one.
  • What happened?!

What happened Ryan. I've loved your old albums. They described the harshness of life and the joys of simple things that the rest of the world has seemed to over look. That was kind of music that complemented the ruggedness and culture of the West Texas region that I live in. I hope though that your doing what you want to do, and if so l, I'm fine with that. But if you don't like the new approach you've taken in your music than I would suggest you stick with your bread and butter music you've put in your previous albums. But do what YOU want to do.

'Lone Star' fans bothered when an artist continues to grow or moves on? Y'all got quite a tell there. RB is part of a long tradition. Wish the guy well aka Bon Voyage. A dude from Liverpool once wrote these words: "Pools of sorrow waves of joy Are drifting through my opened mind Possessing and caressing me."
  • So different

I consider myself a diehard Ryan Bingham fan. This album is so different than his old stuff that was almost unrecognizable. The first time I listened to it I almost turned it off. After owning it for a couple of months many of the songs began to grow on me. Beg for broken legs, never far behind, and too deep to fill are my favorites but there are several that I skip every time I come across them on shuffle. I am in the group that hopes Ryan decides to take a turn back to his roots with his next album. Still can't wait to see him live one day!

Not a huge fan. His old music is way better and I hope he goes back to where he left off. Pretty disappointing.
