Seasons Will Change - Single

I wore out my cassettes of Alpha and Astra driving to commuter college back in the fall of 1988. Since then, I've tried to follow Asia as closely as I can. From the Payne era I especially enjoyed Aura and the project GPS. While I was not happy to hear about the legal battles over the name of the band, this is a good project by great musicians. I really enjoy the song and am looking forward to Americana. Asia featuring John Payne still has much to give the world of prog.

it's been a while since John Payne's Asia which now called Asia featuring John Payne has had any new Music out this is a Fantastic song one of my Favorite songs of 2012 i for one can't wait for the new CD in 2013

So glad to finally hear some new music from this talented group. Fans of any era of Asia should enjoy this song. I'm actually glad that there are two versions of Asia, as it gives us all more to enjoy from both incarnations. Bring on Americana!

I've been a fan of John Payne since I first heard him on the Aqua album, 20 years ago. This single has been along time coming, as the 2009 Military Man EP has been the only music released since 2004 (other than the GPS side-project). Seasons Will Change is a well-crafted progressive rock song, with elements of '70s classic rock. The musicianship in the current lineup is top-notch. I'm really looking forward to the Americana album in 2013.

Fans have waited for new music from John Payne's Asia for some time, and it looks like we are finally being rewarded for our patience. Though I have nothing but respect for the original musicians who comprised the Asia lineup, I have to say that it was John Payne's tenure in the band that really sparked my enthusiasm for them. He added a very welcome harder rock edge to their signature sound. The melodic hooks, the virtuoso playing, the panoramic arrangements, the polished production--they are all very much on display here, perhaps even to a higher degree than before. If the rest of the "Americana" album lives up to this standard, it will be great!

IMO Asia only got better when John Payne joined in the 90s. John Payne could not only handle, but also improved on the Original Asia material, bringing it a new soul and created a new version (of Asia) that would become my favorite band. Now there are 2 forms: Original Asia and Asia Featuring John Payne or AFJP (with no original members). Seasons Will Change is the first original material from AFJP. ( While Original Asia has released three albums since there 2006 reunion, none of it has been original or exciting.) Seasons Will Change has an energy, originality and beauty better than any song ever released by either form of Asia. John Payne along with Erik Norlander, Jay Schellen, Moni Scaria and Jeff kollman are a very special band. Buy Seasons Will Change, listen to it, share it and wait desperately (like the rest of us) for the full album "Americana" by Asia Featuring John Payne!!! See them live, too!!!

I have listened to this song countless times since downloading it yesterday. If you are a John Payne voiced Asia fan, you must download it now. You will not be diappointed. This is a great song and I can't wait for further releases from AFJP.
