    Another Beethoven 9th. Not his best work, but it pays the bills. MTT and his band give a thrilling performance all the same and the recording quality is crystal clear. If you're compleating his Beethoven set, you'd do well to get this. -Bz

    SFS and MTT do it again. This is really one recording to add to one's collection. SFS performs Beethoven's masterpiece masterfully and with clarity and purpose. Ode to Joy sparkles with grace and beauty. Though I have to say at 14:14 in the final movement, you can hear a soprano really roll the "R" in the lyric "Alle Menschen warden Brrrrrrrrrrrrüder." Once you hear it, you can't unhear it! Haha
