  • Beautiful, Artistic, Gospel-Centered Music

It's been a privilege to know Caroline in seminary. Granted, I was closer friends with her husband. The person behind the music is just as awesome as the sound of the beautiful, Gospel-centered, artistic music you're hearing when you listen to The Blood + The Breath. Her previous music is good as well, but I believe this album especially has more cohesion and functions much better as one cd telling one story - redemption. There is a theme of promise, fulfillment, longing, and joy throughout. Caroline's sound is a lot like Sandra McCracken in my opinion, but I love Sandra McCracken's sound (married to Derek Webb and a part of Indelible Grace). Caroline has a similar sound to Sandra McCracken, but with a little bit of her own Texas twist to the music a more folk and pleasantly rough sound. I encourage everyone to buy this album, not just because I friends with her and her family, but because it is a beautiful story, because it is the story of the Gospel woven through the fabric of God's Word. Enjoy.

I fell in love with this album driving back from Nebraska. I listened to it six times on repeat… EVERY SINGLE SONG! The lyrics are rooted in the Old Testament and in God's redeeming acts towards His people. This CD is life-giving and such a blessing.

This album is thoughtfully and beautiful done. Caroline's songwriting is so honest, gentle and deep. The music is so easy to listen to, the lyrics are rich and the story of the Gospel unfolds in a powerful way. Passover is one of my favorite songs on the album and it's a great portrayal of her story-telling and songwriting. Love this album!

This is heartfelt work by an amazing artist that tells the story of Scripture in 12 songs. It is evident by listening to the tracks that Caroline poured her heart into meticulously assigning every word for this album. The result is nothing short of a true work of art. Please download and put your iPod on repeat…
