When it is good in its inner essence, it will only grow and get better with each ear's listening. Captures the sounds, the feel, the magical dynamics of the Village in the early 1960s - but we all knew this session in this season would be captured in time and still sound as magical decades later. You were not there, but with this, you are there. Save me my seat and order me a gin on the rocks.....amazing stuff....never to be duplicated.

I have listened to this great music since I was a lad in high school...long before I knew anything about jazz. "It Ain't Necessarily So" is my favorite, Listen to the wonderful lead changes with each lead musician given enough time to develope and enrich his piece. The subtle background percussive changes are a real treat. Take your time with each of these tunes. Find out what the audience at the live performance so many years ago was raving about. Oh to have been so lucky to have been there.

I wore this album out twice in the late 50's. It is an essential part of every jazz fan's collection; still timely, still classic, and still great!

I have been listening to this Unbelievably Excellent music since it first came out about a hundred years ago. Don't be fooled by the 2005 release date: we were groovin' to Mr. Mann in the '60's. This is WONDERFUL music and the only album/CD I know of with only 3 numbers on it: "Summertime" sizzles for over Ten minutes....mmmmmmm. Buy it!!!!
