Simple and lovely

It's easy to forget that while CCM is a major industry, for many of its listeners the music is looked for as another way to touch and be touched by God. I'm not a Christian anymore, but I remember singing songs like "That's the Day" and "All I Have To Be" with tears in my eyes because of how deeply they touched me. I know Amy Grant didn't write most of her music, and I have no idea how devout she actually was at the time. But the music created on this album was powerful because of its simplicity. That's kind of how it's supposed to be with spiritual things, right?
