Only Duran Duran ever equaled INXS in melding rock and dance/funk music in the 80s and 90s. Every song on this is great. Kick, the album after this, was the bigger success, but it was all built on THIS foundation. And Listen Like Thieves just ages better than Kick. Something happened where the 80s turned into the LATE 80s by the time Kick came out. Listen Like Thieves is INXS at the HEIGHT of their powers, when melody, vocals, guitars, beats...they all came together to be appealing to both the cool kids and radio/the masses. If you like the sound samples, you'll love the album.

This is the first INXS "tape" I owned. I loved it and played it til it fell apart. I have bought it again and again. I just bought it one last time on iTunes.

My favorite album by INXS. Just before their major breakthrough with "Kick". Every song on here is great! I always have and always will believe that Michael H was the voice for INXS. He had a unique vocal style that really fit the music they played. He is sadly missed.
