I was fortunate enough to see David perform this album in Oakland during his Mutineers tour, and it completely surpassed my expectations. I've always loved his music, but this album feels stronger in so many ways. It felt to me like he had come to rest with his struggle as an artist somehow, and instead of trying to relive the glory of White Ladder he was simply singing in the present, and finding an ecstasy in that. Both me and my girlfriend felt so happy after the concert, like we'd been invited to enjoy that discovery with him, like we were all hearing the music together as if for the first time. This album has gone on to be a pivotal one that I've listened to over and over again. It's sophisticated, and has a lot of depth to it, even for David Gray. One of my all-time favorites to be sure.

Saw David live three nights ago. Have been a huge fan for ten years but to see the Mutineers album played with passion onstage sold me on this album. He is possessed by the music and i highly encourage even a sometimes fan to listen to this album all the way thru. A great effort…..Thanks to David in an era of mediocre music

David has been creating wonderful music for years and I couldn’t be happier that his new album doesn’t disappoint. Back in the world again is beautiful. His acoustic appearance on KCRW doing this song was epic and worth the watch!
