I've never met Phil, but I love to listen to him online, passionately leading worship at Grace Church Nashville. I also loved his self titled debut from last year. If I would've bought it on LP the needle would have worn through the vinyl by now. In Giants & Oceans, I can say Phil has taken it to another level. More anthems and more of an 80's retro feel this time to many of the songs...it's annointed and works fantastically with his soaring vocals. "You Are Welcome In This Place" and "Worthy of It All" are worship gems and should become standards for years to come. Why this album is not at the top of the CCM / Praise and Worship charts and being talked about all over the web I can only assume is due to it's non-major label status - DON'T LET THAT FOOL YOU - the writing / production / delivery makes it easily one of the best releases of 2014.
