The first review is correct However...One cut is worth it. Maria done by Maynard on this recording is his best performance of that chart by far. The Tenor solo is great too. Don't know who it was...Menza? Maybe someone in Europe where it may have been recorded?? But you can't find this cut anywhere else but on this album. So just download Maria all you Maynard heads out there. It will blow you away!!! 5 stars for that one alone. The rest is already out there as was stated.

This recording is not even close to Buddy's recording of the album with the same name. It sounds like a rehearsal tape, except for Buddy's ending solo. The tempo is slower and missing the trombone solo I was looking for. The ending solo by Buddy is still great.

From the title and cover of this album, you'd think that Maynard Ferguson and Buddy Rich had teamed up for a recording, which would have been fantastic. That's not the case here. What you get is a Buddy rich album (and not a particularly good one) with a few Maynard Ferguson charts at the end. Worse yet, the recordings aren't the best of either Rich or Ferguson, they're from widely divergent recording sessions, and no attempt has been made to remaster them or turn them into a cohesive whole. I'm a BIG fan of both Maynard Ferguson and Buddy Rich, so trust me: This album isn't worth your money. iTunes has other, better options.
