Foolish Games

Some of the greates music to ever be recorded has come from heartache and pain. Jewel crashed into the music scene on the mid 90's with her breakout song, "Who will save your soul". The song was played repeatedly on alternate and pop radio stations, becoming common in clubs and bars as evenings wrapped up. Her soulful voice and lyrics resonated with me, one could hear genuine emotion in her words and tunes. Follow up hits were equally stirring and were deeply moving. Her voice carried a remarkable range and her ability to tap into some of the deep sadness seemed to really hit home. The songs were part of life and were a soundtrack to everyday life in the 90's. Personally, some of the best and worst memories of this time seem directly related to her songs, either through circumstance or timing.
