I grew up with you. You were on my turn table. Your blues ripped my soul from the depths of hell. Chordes you struck in '74 still echo in my head. Where are you? I think you finally answered that long distance call.

If this is considered music, I need to start recording my own stuff. I mean if you're just going to throw your money away, I might as well be your snake oil. This just seems like a GoFundMe scam or something.

This is an excellent album. Is it DSOTM or WYWH? No! But, it's great to hear great guitar playing and seeing some cool jams. This is better than an Roger Waters solo stuff.

For those giving a single star…not sure what you were expecting. Maybe Gilmour drops the needle on a gangsta rap album? A tribute to Metallica? An all instrumental album buried with guitar solos? Anyway, this is the man that wrote or had a hand in writing nearly every “post Syd” recording. He has a definitive sound. The album barely (but still occasionally) raises the tempo above a ballad, is equal parts light and dark. His production is lush, layered and filled with vocal harmony. The guit solos are few yes, but well placed and instantly recognizable. The melodies are terrific and plentiful. I love that he’s growing, but doing it in a way that even the most casual Floyd fan will (or should) enjoy. But this is just my opinion, I could be wrong.

First of all, this is my first time buying a David Gilmour solo album, although I've heard the others. I grew up appreciating Pink Floyd as well. After hearing the title track and another, I not only bought this deluxe, I bought the vinyl disc as well-glad I did. I've read reviews and here's mine. Grab you some real, over the ear, quality headphones and ENJOY. Although David's voice isn't quite what it once was, it still works here. The guitar work is as great, familiar and relevant as it ever was. I truly enjoyed all the tracks. Some remind me of Pink Floyd and some don't. However, if you're a fan of this kind of work, you'll eventually kick yourself for not buying it down the road. I truly feel this has something to offer your collection. Don't overthink this release, it's simply very good and will not get dated.

Being a long time fan of Pink Floyd, and especially David Gilmour and his tremendous guitar playing, I was apprehensive about Rattle that Lock after hearing the title track. Gilmour has always been better when his music is tied into a Pink Floyd album. His three prior solo albums, while each have their shining moments, never seem to deliver a great album in its entirety. Can we "fans" really forget the monstrosity that was "about face"? But I digress... Rattle that lock is full of classic floyd-esque arrangements, with Gilmour's unmistakeable guitar playing plastered over each track at the helm. In this album, we see a man gracefully transcend into genres of music easily out of his comfort zone, but he delivers with a sense of elegance and grace. The album is a must for any Pink Floyd/Gilmour fan alike
