Was standing in line on March 6, 2006 waiting for store to open to purchase this cd. It's David's best work in my honest opinion.

I was really blown away by this album. It's literally one of those albums where every track is amazing! I can't believe any Pink Floyd or David Gilmour fan would be unhappy with this purchase. It doesn't get better than this folks. It has a very relaxing and chilled out sound. I love it!

WOW- What a deep feeling David Gilmour sends with this album; it sends me right to that Island. I fell in love with Pink Floyd when my husband & I were dating at UGA; he had been listening to Pink Flyod since the beginning. TheDark Side of the Moon concert was in Atlanta right after we got out for the summer & he was heading home for the summer. They were magnificent! I love to watch Pulse, as do all 5 of our children, and I slip back to that newly found romance. There are many PF albums I love and listen to time & time again, BUT what David Gilmour has done with On An Island is so wonderfully consuming. I feel like I am on that island and feeling the sea breeze, breathing the warm salt air, walking in surf, rolling in the sand and swinging as if I were a child again. When I first heard & bought this album, I was getting ready to have my knee caps replaced & wanted something peaceful & inspiring to listen to during my recovery. (I always listen to classical music during surgery.) Thank You David!

This is by far an amazing piece of art drawn by David's guitar. From start to finish every note is perfect.

In this effort David approaches the heights he previously only reached when he and Roger were working closely. This exceeds the Final Cut, and Division Bell (where David and Roger did not work together or one was diminished) in my opinion due to the depth of feeling the music brings. On an Island is one of the best songs I have heard in a long long time and the rest of the albulm is very very solid. He's not cashing in on his name here. He brings it.
