these are very interesting and diverse mixes of "cowboys..." hope one day they'll put up the remixes of "i believe in love"

It seems that the "reviewers" have lost sight of the point of why songs are mixed. For one, it brings a song to an audience that might not have been exposed to it - expanding their musical tastes and maybe even enticing them to buy into a genre they otherwise would never have considered. Another reason is to let other artists interpret a tune with their own artistic take. Some of these interpretations go with the minimalist artistic movement and focus entirely on what they feel is the heart of the tune. Others go with a more romantic flow and choose motifs to repeat. The mix that borrows from the 80s tune, "I Wanna Be a Cowboy," is a great example of the wit of pop art; and much like Andy Warhol, this type of art appeals only to a certain sect of the population. In any case, art requires freedom, and all of these mixers have the right (some with arguably more skill than others) to interpret the melody, rhythm, and harmonies as they feel moved by the original Paul Cole hit.

Good original song, all bad remixes. Dekkard's Rancho Pepe Mix saves this single from one star, but it still isn't that great. There are five very similar versions of a Sylkscreen remix, all of which are too slow and set to some bad jazz beat. Then there are three E-Team remixes which all have some horrible robot voice saying "I wanna be a cowboy". They're all bad mixes, especially the Saxuality mix, which sounds like a circus clown on ecstasy. Please, for Paula's sake, get these remixes off and stick with the much better original.
